Halving setup time while raising the bar
for international basketball

KIN once again took centre stage as the official event management company for the second edition of the FIBA Intercontinental Cup. Held at the iconic Singapore Indoor Stadium, this event reinforced Singapore’s reputation as a premier destination for international sports — and showcased KIN’s ability to improve on an already successful formula.

Building on lessons from 2023, KIN refined its operational approach to achieve notable cost efficiencies while enhancing event quality. Setup time was cut by more than half — from seven days in 2023 to just three days in 2024 — and the budget savings were reinvested into elevating the tournament experience.

Year-on-Year Improvements

Key issues identified in the 2023 event were addressed and improved: team logos gained greater visibility for a more immersive environment; the scorer’s table line-of-sight to the Field of Play was improved for uninterrupted views; and a modular victory podium was introduced, enabling swift and efficient sport presentation transitions after the final match.

FIBA Hall of Fame Integration

The 2024 tournament saw the integration of the FIBA Hall of Fame ceremony, held on the event court following Game Day 2. In partnership with the show producers, KIN executed a rapid transition that allowed the evening event to proceed seamlessly — demonstrating detail-oriented planning and custom-fit solutions.

Cost Efficiency and Reinvestment

By streamlining logistics and halving setup time, KIN achieved meaningful cost savings that were reinvested into elevating other aspects of the tournament. This approach reflected intelligent planning paired with a commitment to continuous improvement.

Setting New Standards

The 2024 FIBA Intercontinental Cup set a new standard for sports event management. KIN’s capability to adapt and refine methods from one edition to the next — achieving both cost efficiency and an elevated experience — solidified their competitive edge and forged a legacy of innovation for the event itself.
