HSBC SVNS Singapore

Rugby Meets Festival Culture

Fan-first, future-forward

Redefining sports entertainment
at the National Stadium

In April 2025, the National Stadium at Singapore Sports Hub once again played host to one of the most anticipated events in sports: HSBC SVNS Singapore 2025. The stadium was transformed into a vibrant playground for rugby enthusiasts and culture aficionados alike, redefining sports entertainment with over 42,000 attendees expected.

More than a tournament, it was a global festival blending rugby’s fast-paced action with immersive entertainment, sustainable practices, and next-level fan engagement. World Rugby envisioned the Singapore edition to expand rugby’s reach beyond the pitch and appeal to broader audiences through sport, food, music, and interactive experiences.

The Vision

World Rugby designed the Singapore edition with three key objectives: promote the global growth of rugby by creating a shared cultural experience that resonated across borders; attract a diverse audience by integrating sports with entertaining fan zones, live performances, and interactive activities; and craft a unique festival atmosphere with innovations like Beach Clubs and Gourmet Food Markets.

The Fan Experience

Kickback Zones at the Beach Club let fans unwind in beautifully designed spaces alongside the tournament. Gourmet Food Markets offered a variety of culinary delights, elevating the event into a full lifestyle experience. Live music and interactive performances filled the air with festival vibes, making it a celebration of community and entertainment.

Branding and Identity

The branding embraced the SVNS Masterbrand while integrating Singapore’s unique cultural identity. This localisation effort included a custom sun logo, tricode branding, and vibrant colour schemes connecting the global narrative to the local audience.

KIN’s Role

KIN played a vital role in on-ground execution and logistics across several fronts: event delivery and build from venue setup to intricate constructions; venue design matching the event’s festive atmosphere; player services and back-of-house operations; fan engagement activities through innovative interactive zones; sports presentation and spectator experience; and overall logistics management across venue operations, stakeholder coordination, and scheduling.

SG60 and Community

A highlight was the Sports Tryout Zone, which included a nostalgic twist for Singapore’s 60th birthday. Traditional “Old School Games” brought childhood memories back to life while fostering cultural connection and community celebration.

Sustainability

Sustainability was a core pillar, not an afterthought. KIN helped integrate eco-friendly practices including a bagless policy, recycling bins with educational signage, green venue selection, biodegradable utensils, sustainable catering with ethical ingredient sourcing, and plastic bottle reduction — creating a forward-thinking, environmentally conscious event model.
